This is just an example of one of the hundreds of Mexican flags that were out on the course. I took this while I was driving to the start before the final stage. I am told that we were the crowd favorites by a number of the AMGEN Tour of California staff that were out on the courses. We had pictures left on our cars and big greetings before and after the stages. A lot of Viva Mexico chanting! We need to get a proper Mexican horn for our cars! Posted by Picasa

Something fun that plays little snips of recognizable songs. The “sound bite” horns have been popular in European team cars for some time. Something distinctive so that everyone knows the Mexican team car is near.

We use certain horn patterns to tell the other cars that a rider is coming up from behind and when passing the other cars. Having a distinctive horn(s) communicates better and is safer.

Unfortunately, I have witnessed some accidents in the past. It is critical to be as safe as possible. A car with high-end suspension / brakes makes things safer too. Everything should work together to provide the safest environment we can provide for the riders.
